Dear Mr Svante Stockselius,
Re: Eurovision 2009 / Cyprus National Final
According to the CyBC announcement the ten selected songs will compete on February the 7th 2009 in the Studio 3 in Nicosia for the Cyprus representation to the 54th Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in Moscow on the 12th, 14th and 16th of May 2009.
The competition will be presented in direct transmission by CyBC television and the public will be called to vote for the song only by tele-voting this time!
Taking into consideration the critical issue of "tele-voting exclusivity" I would like to request from you to confirm that on the 7th of February 2009 the CyBC in collaboration with CYTA will make sure that all the networks of the following telephone companies:
1. MTN with approx. 136.000 subscribers (from 28 years old and downwards) which represent the 16% of the mobile market
2. CYTA-So Easy with approx. 450.000 subscribers (from 30 years old and downwards) which represent the 49,5% of the mobile phone market
3. Prime Tel with approx. 12.500 subscribers
4. Cable Net with hundreds of subscribers
5. CYTA Vodafone
will have their voting windows operative in order to allow the callers to access the voting numbers.
This will ensure that the final results of the tele-voting which song will represent Cyprus this year, will reflect the real democratic selection of the public in Cyprus and will be in line with the EBU's regulations.
Last year's "dubious" technical problems during the tele-voting should be avoided by all means this year!!
