Απάντηση στο e-mail της EBU

Mr Svante Stockselius
ESC Executive Supervisor

Dear Mr. Stockselius,

Thank you for considering my e-mail, which represents a big number of people that share the same complaint that I explained in my letter.

I know the rules and we all respect the fact that its up to the individual participating broadcasters to conduct each national selection, the way they want, but by excluding the private telecommunication companies and their customers from voting and also allowing the customers from only one company to vote, and not only that, allowing them to vote as many times as they can during the 15 minutes people had to vote, you understand that this made it very easy for people to control the result. Especially in Cyprus that the total number of calls registered in the televoting were only 26,011. If you consider that you need 5-6 seconds to register a vote through a call, then that means that since the first song were elected by televoting had 6,400 votes, then with 40 people sitting on the phones calling as many times possible during the 15 minutes, we ended up having a song representing Cyprus to the Eurovision song contest that was a choice of 40-50 people.

We are waiting for the commissioner to decide upon our complaint and let us know with his decision. We are grateful to you for dealing with our complaint and we wish you the best of success in organising Eurovision 2008 and we hope that this years Eurovision would be the best that has ever been organised.

Yours sincerely,

Eurovision Fan
